Profile
Jay Rim is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine degree from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture. From classical to modern styles which can include the use of herbs, the treatments are tailored to the patient for the best results.
Much of his early transformation developed from his study of the martial art Hwa Rang Do which he is a 2nd degree black belt. After receiving his first black belt (1997), his master suggested he start going to school for acupuncture. He tried to take the advice to heart and had an interview with a school in Manhattan, but things didn’t work out at that time.
Instead, he decided to delve deeper into the specifics of movement and received a degree in Exercise Science. This gave him a chance to depart from combat into the fitness of exercise.

After a few years as a personal trainer and receiving his 2nd degree black belt, he remembered that some of the higher levels of black belts also required the study of healing. Even though he hadn’t planned on any more belt promotions, he began his studies in manual therapy and received a degree and New York State license as a Clinical Massage Therapist. Although Hwa Rang Do also included acupuncture as one of the levels of the higher black belts, Jay thought his career as a student was finished.
A few years later his wife asked him what he wanted to be when he was young. He instantly answered, a doctor. So she asked him if he had ever thought about studying acupuncture. He acknowledged that it was on his mind many times.
Instead of going back to the first school that he had interviewed with, he chose Tri-State College of Acupuncture. He graduated with a Masters of Science in Acupuncture in 2014. Continuing his studies in herbs finished his Masters of Oriental Medicine in 2017.
